6 Months Old!
6 Month Development
He’s now officially an “older” baby! He’s 6 months old. He can do so much, it’s amazing. He loves looking at himself in the mirror and is super smiley. He reaches for and grabs objects that he wants, puts toys and objects in his, will pick up toys with one hand and transfers them to the other hand, and has recently started to pick up one object in each hand and bring them together. He likes to babble, turns to look at you when you speak, and has almost mastered responding to his name. He skipped mastering rolling over and decided to figure out sitting up alone first. So that’s where he’s still needing to work on things. pivoting on his stomach, rolling over from front to back and back to front. The most he does is roll to his side from his back.
Started Solids… First Food: Avocado
We also started him on solids! We’re trying out the BLW method and so far he’s doing pretty good. We tried him sitting in a highchair at the table but he might have been a little low, and he wasn’t super interested in what was in front of him. We were also eating at the same time and he just wanted to watch us. After we finished we decided to try him sitting on our lap instead and after awhile he started playing with the food in front of him and got enough on his fingers that he got to taste it when he put his fingers into his mouth. We’ll just keep trying every day and let him practice picking up food and putting it in his mouth to chew. Can’t believe how much he’s growing up!
